Effective October 24, 2026
FlavorVault ("we") makes the FlavorVault: Recipe Importer iPhone app. This policy explains what the app does with your information. Short version: no account, no ads, no tracking, and your recipes stay on your device.
Your recipes, photos, collections, shopping lists, settings, and your monthly import count are stored only on your iPhone (and in your device backups). We don't have access to them.
When you import a video you choose, FlavorVault transcribes its speech using Apple's on-device speech recognition and reads on-screen text with on-device text recognition. Photos you import are read on your device. Videos, audio and photos are never uploaded by FlavorVault.
To tidy up imported recipes, the app may send the text it extracted (the title, caption, speech transcript and on-screen text) to our server, hosted with Supabase. The server sends that text to OpenAI to format it into ingredients and steps, and returns the result. Each request includes a random install ID created by the app, which is not linked to your name, Apple ID or device identity and is used only to enforce a daily usage limit. Our server stores just that ID and a daily request count. It does not keep the recipe text. Our hosting provider may briefly keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. OpenAI processes the text under its API terms, which state that API data is not used to train its models by default.
When you import a link, the app connects directly to that website (for example TikTok or a recipe blog) to read the public recipe page or caption, the same way a browser would. Those sites' own privacy policies apply.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We don't receive your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether Pro is active.
Photos (optional, to find the video you just saved), Speech Recognition (to transcribe videos you pick), Face ID (only if you turn on App Lock), and Notifications (for cook timers). You can change these anytime in iPhone Settings.
FlavorVault has no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and doesn't sell or share personal data. It doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
FlavorVault isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Delete recipes in the app or delete the app to erase all local data. Server usage counts aren't linked to you, and you can ask us to delete them by emailing flavorvault-feedback@mail.grokbot.com.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date.
